If London is the greatest city on earth why is it full of such fucking idiots…

The weekend – what a wash out.  That is, the weather was atrocious.  It rained for at least 36 hours of it.  I had grand plans for this weekend, but Sunday’s plan was dashed completely.

Friday nite I finished this:craft08-006.jpg

This is the latest emo-broidery to be produced by my needle!  It’s very nu-rave, Calvin Harris inspired.  It is pictured here in it’s raw state, literally just finished, so will look much cleaner when it is ironed and framed.

Saturday I had a lie in until 9am ish!  Imagine!  Then I took myself off into town for the haircut of doom with Paolo, the hairdresser I had been assigned by the posh salon.  I was slightly apprehensive about it all, but it turned out to be the best haircut I’ve ever had!  The people were very nice and we spent a good ten minutes talking all about my hair before I even got near having my hair washed.  It was nice that they were so interested in it.  And the best part of all was that it was free, of course (my favourite price), altho I did feel a wee bit guilty about it, so bought some posh shampoo.  I felt I had to as when I mentioned the words “Herbal Essences” to him, he shuddered.

So, buoyed up by my hair success, I proceeded to Marks and Spencers to tackle the Chamber of Refunds, but in the end I didn’t have to as I spied some jeans that looked like exactly what I wanted in a pair of jeans on the way in, so I was able to go to a normal till and exchange them hence completely avoiding said Chamber.  Result!  I am not ashamed to say that I buy my jeans from M&S (Marks and Spencers/Mums and Spinsters) – they fit me well and I am a firm believer in once you’ve found some well fitting jeans, you stick with them!

Saturday evening was spent preparing for Sunday’s car boot sale – collecting a table from Tracey, hunting out stuff to sell – and then an early nite.  Sadly tho, the car boot sale was not to be, a casualty of the ridiculous weather.  I am glad we didn’t go as it literally lashed down all nite and the road was even partially flooded outside our house.  So instead, I got up at 7.30am and watched QVC.  There is really nothing else to do at that time on a Sunday.  It was a show selling the make up I use, which was priced so highly that I almost choked.  I cackled at the TV for a while, smugly safe in my knowledge that I can get it all on Ebay for, in some cases, 75% off the prices they were charging.

Once Lee got out of bed and I had spent my obligatory weekend 2 hours in the bath, we headed off to asda and that was the highlight of our day!  Maybe the highlight was actually when  Lee’s old boss, Barry Chuckle turned up to collect his car.  This was mainly a highlight because he showed up looking like he’d gone to the JJB Sports sale covered in Copydex and bought whatever stuck to him.  He looked like an uncomfortable fat, balding middle aged man who has been co-erced into leisurewear to make him appear younger and hipper in front of his younger wife’s friends.  It was an excruciating sight from my vantage point at the living room window!

We celebrated our return to a one-car household by having roasted pork for dinner – yum!  It was fantastic.  Then I made these:

I made them all from one sheet of felt, which is why they are all green.  My favourite is the cloud brooch with the eek! expression.

Other news – I have a job interview with an agency on Tuesday evening!  Here’s hoping something comes of that.  I think I have all but made my mind up to resign with a long notice period from my current job now, I will speak with my boss possibly and see what happens.  Sometimes you just need to take the plunge!

I also had a letter thru from hospital re my appointment to check out the carpal tunnel situation in my hands – the letter tells me that I have up to 19 weeks to wait for an appointment.  Yes, that’s right, 19 weeks.  Just as well  my hands are not hanging off!

Anyway, that’s all for this wet, windy, miserable Monday.  I have another emo-broidery in progress at home which I may post about tomorrow!  Until then look at this for emo-broidery!
